Dr. Butler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) with many years of clinical and academic experience. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Butler has been a founding member in the development of community coalitions. She has served as the principal investigator on several grant projects, where she has conducted program evaluations for various school- and community-based initiatives.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Oswego, a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development from St. Lawrence University, and a Master of Science in Social Work and a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
